Swim across the IJsselmeer your own way
Swim across the IJsselmeer. Together.
On August 22, 2026, about 50 swimmers will take on the challenge: swimming 22 km from Stavoren to Medemblik.
But you don't have to do it alone. Most participants swim in a team of 3โ5 people.
In a relay, you take turns in 30-minute blocks. This way you swim about 5 km yourself, in stages of 1/1.5 km. Very doable, even without long-distance experience.
Would you like an extra challenge? You can also participate as a duo or solo. Or form a business team with colleagues.
Together with your team, coach, and skipper, you are going for one goal: raising as much money as possible for the Brain Foundation.
Minimum donation per participant: โฌ1,500.-

Swim together in a relay team
You take turns and make the crossing achievable together. Suitable if you can swim the front crawl for 30 minutes.

Take on the challenge with your colleagues
Work together towards a single goal and enjoy a unique team experience on the water. The strongest teams are built outside of their comfort zone!

Go for the full crossing
For experienced open water swimmers who want to complete the
22km solo.

Role of the coach
The coach plays a crucial role in the safety of the swimmers. The coach is primarily responsible for the safety of the swimmers during the crossing. Every swimmer or relay team must therefore arrange for their own coach to assist them during the crossing, and who is willing to attend the clinics for this purpose.
